April 2003  –  October 2004 /  Member of catalog production team for Learning Tree International, a world leader in hands-on training for Management and Technology Professionals. “Since 1974, over 1.9 million course participants from over 65,000 organizations around the world have enhanced their skills through intensive hands-on exercises under the guidance of expert instructors with real-world experience”— now that’s a lot of course catalogs! Production system using InDesign’s Automation features.

Design Director – Corporate Communications, CB Richard Ellis, Los Angeles, CA
June 1999  – June 2001 /  I was hired to bring design and brand management / internal brand promotion in-house. I assembled the art department and managed two associate designers. CB Richard Ellis is the world’s largest commercial real estate company. Our department created brochures, flyers, ads, internal and external newsletters, posters, conference collateral and graphic templates used by marketing staff in 250+ offices in 44 countries. Provided design services for corporate, regional, and business line management at the North American headquarters. Encouraged brand compliance throughout the company. Developed and presented brand overview presentations, in person as well as online, to the company’s designers, desktop publishers, marketing specialists and selected sales professionals. Initiated and maintained a 300+-member in-house networking group of designers and desktop publishers. Updated existing design templates to reflect brand development and enhance ease-of-use for users of varying graphic expertise.

Art Director – FLOWERS& magazine, a Teleflora publication, Los Angeles, CA
March 1996 – June 1999 / FLOWERS& is an international monthly trade magazine for the floral industry. Designed and produced approx 75% of each issue; worked closely with the editorial and advertising departments. Assigned photography, art directed location and studio product shoots, illustrated a monthly column, designed and produced client ads, and composed the monthly schematic. Maintained relationships with industry contacts, writers, editors, photographers, vendors, pre-press, and printers.

Art Director – CurAnt Communications Publishing Company, Marina del Rey, CA
September 1994 – March 1996 / CurAnt Communications is a publisher of national medical trade journals. Designed and produced the bi-monthly magazines Decisions in Imaging Economics and Case Review. Executed the start-up of Case Review, a sister publication to Decisions. Responsible for full production of these three publications. Never missed a deadline!
